I'm sure this party is an incredible source of laughs.

Spirits suck for 3 things. Low hp, to the level a single crit could take em all down (even with high spawning)
Armor made of butter (maybe it's just the fact they have low hp so their armor looks so shitty)
Prohibitive energy cost/casting time/recharge. AP doesn't solve cost/casting problem. My heroes would have already finished the battle in the 15 seconds every 1-2 minutes it needs me to cast spirits. Exactly spirit with a minute life span that take 5 seconds to get created, that's the definition of bad.
To that add a moronic AI, sometimes they take a cofee break between attacks

Without talking about defensive spirits, after the huge nerf they have no reason to be.
Anet could at least buff them up to the point they were 2 years go, but doing this only in pve.

Hell if we wanna compare efficiency between another 25 energy sucky skill we might compare it to meteor shower. Meteor shower could kill a mob of npcs (talking about Jade quarry for instance) while a 25 energy spirit would get killed in half a second.
AMEN... haha

Pretty much sums it up. Passive effects aren't noticed to ofton, I once had a war go "omg doylak signet makes it so I don't take damage" after I blinded the mob of wars that had ganged up on him lol. I think someone else already pointed out that all classes are pretty good, if your guild isn't wanting to let you play your favorite one then you need to switch guilds.

I was always wondering what was up with the rit hating. So I couple months ago I made a ritualist.

Alot of the times when I played RA or something, and a rit was in my group, they helped immensely in turning the tide. I noticed that when I ran my own rit. i felt that, because I was in the group, they did better than any other time I did a mission/quest/anything. I'm not saying the groups success was pivotal to me playin my rit, but we did substantially better that time around.

huzzah for ritualists everywhere

Huzzah!

Yeah, Rits need to be given a break. Very fun and versatile to play but just needs a bit more time to get used to. My experience with my rit is that it is a class that can definitely do offensive buffs well while shelling out good single/party heals. I just really super mega wished we didn't need to rely on OoS as an elite for an effective Resto/Channel build with proper e-mgmt. Xinrae's/Remedy wep spells are good too but I feel that the choice of the Ritualist Class elites are whats gimping the class. We usually have to borrow from another class [assassin's promise] to make it effective

^This.

I've noticed the exact same thing when playing an imbagon.
War1:"Wow, our monks must be godly healers!"
War2:"Yah! Our health is barely going down. lol!"
War1:"lol"

People just either don't know, don't understand or don't bother to take full notice of all that's going on in a battle so when they see a rit (or in my case, an imabgon) they just think "healer" or something.
